Mahathir was called to the Malaysian Bar on 6 July 1990 and has been in legal practice for more than seventeen years. He is a graduate of the University of London, England and was admitted as a Barrister of Grays Inn, London in 1989. He heads our litigation department and is currently handling litigation portfolios for several banks, financial institutions and corporations. During the course of his legal career, he has handled various forms of litigation, ranging from corporate litigation including applications under Section 176 as well as minority shareholder actions under Section 181 of the Companies Act 1965, litigation relating to receiverships and liquidation to recovery work for banks and other financial institutions, hire purchase and leasing matters, litigation on behalf of stockbroking firms and insurance companies, employment disputes, defamation claims and commercial arbitrations. He has delivered numerous lectures to the Equipment Leasing Association of Malaysia, made public presentations on resolutions of commercial contracts as well as conducted training on litigation procedures for several banks.
