Raslan Loong was founded in 1995. Shortly after its establishment, the firm quickly gained a secure foothold in Malaysia’s M&A and Capital Markets law scene and was cited by the International Financial Law Review in its 1998 publication as one of the Leading Asian Law Firms – the first time such an accolade was presented to a Malaysian law firm. We continue to be acknowledged and stand alongside other leading Malaysian law firms rated by all the key international legal directories.

We are ranked as a Leading Malaysian Law Firm for Corporate / Mergers & Acquisitions in 2008 by Asia Pacific Legal 500, Chambers Global, Chambers Asia and IFLR 1000. We are ranked as a Leading Malaysian Law Firm for Capital Markets in 2008 by Asia Pacific Legal 500 and IFLR 1000. Asia Pacific Legal 500 also ranked as a Leading Malaysian Law Firm for Banking & Finance in 2008.  This attests to our outstanding services and ability to differentiate ourselves through products that are unique and client focused. Our international perspective is also unique, being the first Malaysian law firm to realize the need to go beyond Malaysian shores by setting up offices overseas. This provides strong international and cross-border law management for our clients.

Our Philosophy

Starting out at a time when corporate commercial work was dominated by large law firms, we had to think quickly of a business model and strategy that would create differentiation from our competitors. Differentiation in the widest possible sense thus became key to our survival and a prevailing ethos of the firm. This in turn resulted in the corporate and commercial niche practice for which we are now well known. However to be different was not sufficient without a strong culture of service and quality which we infuse into our daily work.

We believe that specialization is needed to bring about speed of execution. Our familiarity with complex corporate issues provides swift solutions that are useful and commercially acceptable.

It is our belief that we will only be able to grow if we stay ahead of the game by looking into the future for products and services that have yet to be provided. Innovation and forward thinking is thus a critical part of the Raslan Loong philosophy.

Strong foreign affiliations, offices overseas and our cross-border expertise developed through our own involvement with a large variety of foreign investments for our clients, have allowed us to offer law management services to our Malaysian clients which have interests abroad.
